Rather than come clean, he came up wth some hoopla about 'misplaced files' and an advisor who had passed away ! (Yes, but there would have been a dissertation of a thesis in front of a whole panel of Professors - did they ALL die ? )</p> <p>In a Valley where CTOs have PhDs, multiple PhDs, maybe even a smattering of Nobel laureates running around, here is Trimble's CTO with (drum roll) a B. Eng ! You would just use different techniques to justify to yourself that what you had done was OK.
