The problem I am having is with the rental. Having just lost my car, they provided me a rental. They didn't send me the paperwork for the total loss until over a week after I received the quote, and when I did receive it, it was on Friday evening before a Holiday weekend. They expected me to get a letter notarized over a Holiday and refused to pay for my rental car after Tuesday. How is it at all possible to get a new car when I have to shell money out of my own pocket to pay for a rental now? I still haven't received the settlement check! It is ridiculous. I am now thinking of calling back and asking for management. On my policy it states that they will cover up to 1 month of rental coverage, it has only been 2 weeks.

Re: Tips for dealing with insurance company to settle Total Loss case

which insurance company is this? We came to a higher amount, $2500 higher than the original offer and it was done in a week. I do not mind saying that my insurance company is 21st Century.

Re: Tips for dealing with insurance company to settle Total Loss case

Very helpful. I'm going through the process now and I had to return the rental but I am still without a vehicle. The insurance agency told me that a letter from them stating how much the car is worth should be enough to get started with another loan but apperently not because the dealers want prroof that the insurance will pay it off. I can't get around and I'm missing work.

Re: Tips for dealing with insurance company to settle Total Loss case

This is so sad ti know, I am not impressed with the way insurance companies tried to apply all the tactics to prove that your car is total loss. Not at all acceptable by any means.

Re: Tips for dealing with insurance company to settle Total Loss case

Great tips. just add your blog to my rss feeds for more great tips in the future

Re: Tips for dealing with insurance company to settle Total Loss case

Good Job...Nice Post...
